About Us:

Howdy, Welcome to my no frills website. What birds do we raise? We specialize in GaNoi and Madagascar. Ganoi from Vietnamese lines, Naked-Neck GaNoi from Vietnamese lines, and Madagascar, also from Vietnamese lines. There are traces of other lines in a few families – not in all families, just some. There are a few different Vietnamese sources of genetics, not just one(!) I have some Saigon style “Thai” still, but these are being phased out, or somewhat interbred with a particular GaNoi family…so as of 2025, the remaining Thai I still keep have some admix of Ganoi, (so a little larger). In the past we have have had “Thai” from Vietnam and from local Hmong, but those are virtually all phased out, except for a very small remnant strain. And Shamo have long since been entirely excluded from our lines. Having said all that, I work to maintain some vigor by not extensively line breeding, and by careful pairing of hens with cocks not related, or at least not too closely related. I line breed only for brief interludes. Careful mixing of families maintains vigor. Games come from players, and as such, were developed for skills more than appearance. I work to improve their form without sacrificing their game. (However, since in California game is quite illegal, I must declare I do not raise birds for ANY illegal purposes. I keep myself fully in legal sphere. But I am allowed to state that nevertheless I do keep my birds fierce.)

We also keep a few Chibi KO and some Longtails / Phoenix ‘on the side’. These are almost never listed on this site.

Occasionally I offer a few birds to the public and sometimes when birds become available they might (some) be seen on the Currently Available page. Not all birds are listed. So please inquire if you are looking for something in particular.

No fowl sold for any illegal purpose in violation of any federal law of The United States or any State Law therein.  All sales intended for show or breed purposes only. )

We are a small operation in Humboldt County on northern coast of California. I am not claiming to be full expert (yet😉), but always learning and improving . These birds are raised with plenty of exercise, sun, high quality foods, and kept clean, and relatively free of parasites and diseases.

All birds are fed well on non GMO high grade grains and legumes, mostly slightly fermented or sprouted; fresh vegetables, ‘weeds’, and fruits; and supplemental proteins of eggs, mealworms, meats, also some animal fats; and some mineral supplements. (Commercial pellets are used only when I am on vacation.)

Birds are in good muscular condition and given free range every day as juveniles, and at least on alternate days as aggressive stags. Aviaries are quite large, with ample room to run and have a life, even while inside them, and still, most birds ALSO have a solid amount of free-range or large yard time. (Yards are lushly planted, and provide place for natural behavior and active lives, also insects, berries, “salad”, and fallen fruits.) Mews (apartments for breeding and raising chicks) are ample and kept clean of poop, vermin, and pestilence. Intestinal parasites, mites, etc are kept under control! We routinely treat for those, however we do not vaccinate. We breed for natural immunities. Sick birds may be medicated for minor issues, but any sickly birds are culled and never bred. We live in a pretty cool climate for Naked-Necks, so we provide a green-house like option, and a few 25w reptile heaters during during winter. (If your winters are cold, I suggest you might do similarly were you to obtain Naked-Necks.)
